Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (225g) unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
  • 6 cups (720g) powdered sugar, sifted
  • 3 tbsp (45ml) heavy cream
  • 2 tsp (10ml) clear vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp (1.5g) fine sea salt

Instructions:

  1. Place the softened butter in your mixing bowl and beat on medium-high speed for 3–5 minutes until the butter changes from a deep yellow to a pale, almost white cream.
  2. Turn the mixer to low and gradually add the sifted powdered sugar one cup at a time. Once incorporated, increase the speed to medium and beat for another 2 minutes until the mixture is light and airy.
  3. Add the heavy cream, clear vanilla extract, and salt. Whip on high speed for 1–2 minutes until the frosting is velvety and holds a stiff peak.
