Instructions:
- Zest the lemon before juicing. Finely mince the garlic until it reaches a paste-like consistency.
- Combine the mayonnaise, lemon juice, and lemon zest in a mixing bowl. Whisk vigorously in a circular motion until the sauce is completely smooth.
- Stir in the minced garlic, chopped fresh dill, salt, and black pepper using a folding motion to avoid bruising the herbs.
- If the sauce is too dense, whisk in cold water one teaspoon at a time until it reaches a pourable yet creamy consistency.
- Transfer the sauce to an airtight container and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to infuse.
