Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • 1 small clove garlic
  • 2 tbsp fresh dill
  • 1/4 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/8 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp cold water

Instructions:

  1. Zest the lemon before juicing. Finely mince the garlic until it reaches a paste-like consistency.
  2. Combine the mayonnaise, lemon juice, and lemon zest in a mixing bowl. Whisk vigorously in a circular motion until the sauce is completely smooth.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic, chopped fresh dill, salt, and black pepper using a folding motion to avoid bruising the herbs.
  4. If the sauce is too dense, whisk in cold water one teaspoon at a time until it reaches a pourable yet creamy consistency.
  5. Transfer the sauce to an airtight container and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to infuse.
