Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (225g) unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
  • 3 cups (360g) powdered sugar, sifted
  • 2 tsp (10ml) pure vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp (30ml) heavy cream
  • 1/4 tsp (1.5g) fine sea salt

Instructions:

  1. Place the softened butter in a mixing bowl and beat on medium-high speed for 3–5 minutes until the butter transforms from yellow to a pale, almost white cream.
  2. Turn the mixer to low speed and gradually add the sifted powdered sugar one cup at a time.
  3. Increase the mixer speed to medium and beat for an additional 2 minutes until the mixture is a thick, smooth paste without lumps.
  4. Add the vanilla extract, sea salt, and heavy cream to the bowl.
  5. Whip on high speed for 60 seconds until the frosting is glossy and holds a stiff peak.
