Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp coconut sugar
  • 6 (6 oz) boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tbsp avocado oil

Instructions:

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, dried oregano, salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper, and coconut sugar until well combined.
  2. Pat the chicken breasts completely dry with paper towels to ensure a proper crust forms.
  3. Lightly brush each chicken breast with avocado oil, then generously press the spice rub into the meat on all sides.
  4. Allow the seasoned chicken to sit at room temperature for 10 to 15 minutes to ensure thermal equilibrium.
  5. Choose cooking method: For oven, bake at 400°F (200°C) for 12-18 minutes. For grill, cook over medium-high heat for 6-7 minutes per side. Remove chicken when internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C) and let rest until it hits 165°F (74°C).
